What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual direction is an invitation to share one’s story with another journeyer on the spiritual path. Through spiritual direction you can come to discover how God enters into the everyday reality of life’s experiences.

Spiritual direction is really not about being ‘directed.’ Rather it is very much about being encouraged to draw closer to God.

Beginning in September 2007, Calvary Retreat Center will offer Spiritual Direction.

• Identify and Trust your own experiences of God
• Integrate spirituality into everyday life
• Discern and make difficult decisions
• Share one’s hopes, struggles and losses

Calvary Retreat Center's Spiritual Directors:

Sister Joanne Fahey, C.P.

Sister Joanne has been involved in this ministry for a number of years now. She received her certification in Spiritual Direction from Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, CT in 1998.

JoAnn Nally, M.Ed., M.A.

Joanne has as worked in pastoral ministry since 1988 and is a Passionist lay associate. In 2006, she received certification in spiritual direction from the Spiritual Director’s Initiative at Campion Renewal Center in Weston, MA.
